Dana Simile joined Fox Chapel Area School District in November 2017. Prior to working for Fox Chapel Area, Ms. Simile served as an instructional specialist for students in kindergarten-12th grade for the Quaker Valley School District. She also served as the district’s elementary literacy coach and was an academic specialist, as well as the language arts curriculum leader and an elementary school teacher.
“It’s my belief that students benefit most through teacher education and empowerment,” Simile said. “My ambition is to support teachers’ professional learning and the implementation of quality instructional practices to facilitate positive student outcomes.”
Ms. Simile has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and political science from Washington & Jefferson College. She has a master’s in elementary education from Chatham University, as well as a master’s in reading and instructional coaching/reading specialist certificate from Slippery Rock University.
