Meet Laura Miller
Laura Miller is the new program principal at Dorseyville Middle School.
We asked Mrs. Miller a few questions to get to know her better.
What has been your favorite part about Fox Chapel Area so far?
The supportive colleagues and staff, and being back in a middle school working with students!
Who was your favorite teacher growing up, and why?
Mr. Campbell, for his sense of humor, and he connected with us as students.
What led you to a career in education?
No real specific situation led me to education. I remember in high school just all of a sudden wanting to go into education after talking about being a lawyer for years. I'm so glad I chose education!
Do you have a favorite cafeteria food?
So far, it's been the chicken salads.
On the weekends, what can you be found doing?
Spending time with my family (husband, Matt; daughter, Mia; and son, Cole), working out, catching up on housework, working on assignments, and if I'm lucky, doing some shopping!
What's one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?
My sister and I are first-generation American citizens. Both my parents were born in Italy. I speak and understand Italian.
Favorite vacation destination?
Any Caribbean island, but I loved Curacao.
What three things are always in your refrigerator?
Fruit, yogurt, and coffee creamer
What's the one thing you can't live without?
Coffee (even though I only drink one or two cups a day)
