Eight Fox Chapel Area High School students were selected by audition to perform with the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Region I Choir. The students are seniors Nathan Moore, Ryder Smith, and Sam Smith; and juniors Emily Harajda, Jack Lynch, Kristopher Pizzella, and Sophia Rike. Additionally, senior Lawrence Liu was selected to be the festival’s piano accompanist.
The choral group included approximately 160 of the best singers from school districts throughout Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. The Region I Choir concert was held February 24 at Pine-Richland High School. The group was conducted by Dr. Ryan Keeling, the director of choral activities at Westminster College and the associate conductor of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh.
