Registration Open for Fox Chapel Area Adult Education Fall Courses

More Learning Opportunities Than Ever!

Fox Chapel Area Adult Education (FCAAE) is a rare gem that has been enriching the local adult community for 60 years. In collaboration with the Fox Chapel Area School District (FCASD), this nonprofit was created in 1962 to provide affordable, high-quality, and accessible lifelong learning opportunities. Not even the turmoil of the last 2 years could interrupt FCAAE’s commitment to providing lifelong learning!

Registration for the Fall 2022 season of classes is now open. Learn to speak Italian by taking “Italian for Beginners.” Get exercise and enjoy team sports with “Basketball for Adults.” Stay fit in the privacy of your own home with a wide variety of Zoom fitness classes, including “At Home Women’s Fitness & Strength Training,” “Chair TriYoga,” “Fit Off Your Feet,” “Total Body Fitness with Jen and/or Cassie,” and “Yoga with Diane.” If gardening is your interest, learn to grow “Succulents.” Get ready for the opening of The Marriage of Figaro at Heinz Hall, which begins in November 2022, with “Opera Talk: Marriage of Figaro.” Explore the world of “3D Printing.” These courses and many more are at your fingertips when you go online to www.fcaae.org and sign up. (Or just scan the QR Code to the left!)

FCAAE offers these classes and more, not only to our six-municipality area, but to all adults who want to continue learning and growing. Geography plays no part in who can join in on the fun and lifelong learning. So invite your friends!

FCAAE exists to provide adults with access to the FCASD facilities, the pool being a major one. Whether you are looking for family fun in the pool, aquacise – both deep water high intensity as well as fitness in the shallow end – swimming lessons, open or lap swimming, FCAAE offers it. Or maybe you like to cook … or just eat? Enjoy cooking Asian Street Food, Indian Cooking, and Homemade Pasta and Meatballs. Learn the intricacies of French and American cheeses while tasting them with Chantal’s Cheese Shop! And who can resist learning about how chocolate is healthy for you? Register for “Chocolate as Medicine” and explore the health benefits and joys of chocolate.

While many people know FCAAE from its red-and-white brochure that used to arrive in the mailbox with a listing of all classes, FCAAE has now “gone green.” FCAAE now takes advantage of the ease and efficiency of technology to distribute class and program information in a more environmental, efficient, and economical method. In addition, online registration for classes takes place at www.fcaae.org, so you no longer have to worry about how long it will take and whether your registration form arrives before a class is sold out. Know immediately if you – and your friends – are enrolled! Class and registration updates are now sent using email and social media. If you want to avoid being disappointed by classes that sell out almost instantly, join the FCAAE email list and follow FCAAE on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Of course, FCAAE also still offers phone and email assistance to answer questions and provide help with registration or technology.

Join FCAAE and celebrate its 60th anniversary while also enriching your mind and body!
