5th-Grade Parent Orientation Information

Below is a letter from Mr. Jon Nauhaus, DMS principal, and Mrs. Laura Miller, DMS program principal.

Hello, Fifth-Grade Parents,

We hope this message finds you all well and making the best of our current situation. Under normal circumstances, we would have held our Fifth-Grade Parent Orientation at Dorseyville Middle School in April. Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold that type of evening this year. The purpose of the evening typically is to provide parents with information that may be useful and answer a few questions that you may have about life at the middle school. The evening would begin with my (usually unsuccessful!) attempt to amaze and dazzle you with my extensive knowledge of the building and middle school learners, as well as to provide some information about what your children will be spending their time doing while there. After the introduction session, you would be invited to attend breakout sessions on topics of your choosing to deepen your understanding of specific content areas and programs offered at DMS. We have, however, created several screencasts to provide you with the information you would have received that evening. You can find the links below. We are hopeful that you find the information helpful and appreciate your understanding of our need to take alternate measures this year.
