Virtual Move-Up Day for Fifth-Graders

Under normal circumstances and toward the end of this month, your child would be making the time-honored pilgrimage to Dorseyville Middle School for our annual Move-Up Day.

During their hourlong adventure at DMS, students take part in a few different experiences with the primary goal of providing them an opportunity to see the building and get a quick feel for what their new surroundings will be in the fall.

As a result of our extended closure, this will not be possible this year. In lieu of the traditional Move-Up Day experience, we have put together the video below for your child’s enjoyment and use.

The video contains two parts: a question/answer section where current sixth-grade students answer questions that we think may be on the minds of incoming students, as well as a video tour of the building that showcases classrooms, hallways, and specialty areas in the building that we thought students might like to see.

We hope you find the video to be helpful and that your child (and you) enjoy the 2020 version of Move-Up Day for incoming sixth-graders to DMS.
