Principal

Mrs. Susan Kreit assumed the role of principal of Fairview Elementary School in 2022 after spending many years teaching in the Fox Chapel Area School District. Mrs. Kreit began her career as a fifth-grade teacher in North Carolina, then returned to Fox Chapel Area to serve in both classroom and support roles in multiple district buildings. She has spent the last 11 years as a gifted support teacher and working directly with Fairview students, staff, and families. Beyond her classroom roles, Mrs. Kreit has held other leadership roles within the district during the past several years, serving as both the elementary mathematics department chair and the elementary gifted department cbachelorhair.   

 

Mrs. Kreit earned her bachelor of science in elementary education from Penn State University and both a master's of education and principal's certificate from California University of Pennsylvania. She also earned a PK-12 gifted endorsement through Millersville University. 

 

As an instructional leader, Mrs. Kreit knows the nuances of curriculum and programs, and she works closely with staff members to maintain high expectations for all learners to grow in an environment that makes them feel safe and supported. She values a growth mindset, open communication, and collaboration with all stakeholders to promote the development of the whole child.  

 

Mrs. Kreit has three children and a very active family. They spend their leisure time immersed in sports, travel, outdoor recreation, and enjoying all the activities that the Pittsburgh region offers young families.
