- Kerr Elementary School
Meet Emily Suchevich
Emily Suchevich is a new kindergarten teacher at Kerr Elementary School.
We asked Miss Suchevich a few questions to get to know her better.
What has been your favorite part about Fox Chapel Area so far?
My favorite part about the Fox Chapel Area School District is how amazing the students are. It's great to see a group of students walk into the room and know that they all bring something different and exciting to the table. It is so amazing to see the skills they already have and watch them grow stronger.
Who was your favorite teacher growing up, and why?
It is a tie between Mrs. Dunlap and Mrs. Schenck. They are two teachers I will never forget because they showed me that they truly cared about me.
What led you to a career in education?
I started a career in education because I believe that all students deserve a teacher who cares about them and wants them to succeed. I had some great teachers in elementary school who made me love going to school. I wanted to create that same environment for my students, because those teachers still have an impact on me years later.
Do you have a favorite cafeteria food?
On the weekends, what can you be found doing?
Catching up on sleep and playing with my puppy, Buddie.
What's one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?
I can't whistle!
Favorite vacation destination?
Myrtle Beach, because I get to spend time with my whole family.
What three things are always in your refrigerator?
Coffee creamer, hummus, and eggs.
What's the one thing you can't live without?
If you could have anyone narrate your life, who would it be?
This or That?
Pencil or pen?
Coke or Pepsi?
Dog or cat?
Netflix or YouTube?
Ocean or mountains?
