FCAHS Junior Among 6 Worldwide with Perfect Score on AP Test

Fox Chapel Area High School junior Anna Delale-O’Connor was among only six students worldwide to receive a perfect score on the Advanced Placement (AP) World History: Modern Exam out of approximately 300,000 students who took the test in the spring of 2023.

“We applaud your mastery of the content and skills of this AP course and wish you many future successes,” said Trevor Packer, head of the Advanced Placement program, in an email to Anna congratulating her on her accomplishment.

According to Fox Chapel Area High School social studies teacher Brandon Rios, who instructed Anna’s AP World History course during the 2022-2023 school year, her success is well-deserved.

“She did such a wonderful job in class, and her work ethic is amazing,” Mr. Rios said. “I told her that she is the first student in all my years of teaching AP classes to accomplish this. I am so proud of her.”

Advanced Placement Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, and 5 is equivalent to an A in the corresponding college course.
