DMS Students Selected for PMEA District 1 Junior High Orchestra

DMS Students Selected for PMEA District 1 Junior High Orchestra
Two Dorseyville Middle School students were selected by a committee to perform with the 2026 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 1 Junior High Orchestra. The students are eighth-graders Laila Tobe (viola) and Louis Vandapel (violin). The orchestra included more than 80 of the most talented seventh-, eighth-, and ninth-grade orchestra students from throughout Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
The PMEA District 1 Junior High Orchestra Festival was held March 13 and 14 at Hampton Middle School, and culminated with a concert March 14. The concert was directed by Dr. Jeffrey Tedford, professor of music and director of orchestras at Grove City College.
