5 Qualify for National Catholic Forensic League National Tournament

Four Fox Chapel Area High School students qualified for the National Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament, and two students who placed at the national-qualifying tournament will serve as alternates. The team of sophomores Paulomi Goel and Ottilie Happold won third place overall in Duo Interpretation, sophomore Divya Thirumala won fourth place in Declamation, and senior Sabina Mantella won fifth place in Student Congress. All four of these students have qualified for the national tournament. The team of juniors Aiden Drucker and Noelle Fouron won seventh place in Public Forum Debate, and are first alternates to the national tournament. The competition will be held in Washington, D.C., over Memorial Day weekend.

The Pittsburgh Diocesan qualifying speech and debate tournament was held March 7, 2026, at Fox Chapel Area High School. Nearly 200 students from 13 public and private high schools in the Pittsburgh area participated in the competition.
