2 DMS Students Named to PMEA District 1 Junior High Orchestra
Dorseyville Middle School eighth-graders Finn Johnson (string bass) and Matthew Wang (violin) were selected by committee to perform with the 2024 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 1 Junior High Orchestra. The orchestra will include more than 120 of the most talented seventh-, eighth-, and ninth-grade orchestra students from throughout Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
The PMEA District 1 Junior High Orchestra Festival will be held April 26 and 27 at Keystone Oaks High School, and will culminate with a concert directed by Dr. Stephen Benham, the chair of the performance department and professor of music education at Duquesne University's Mary Pappert School of Music.
