Raptor Visitor Management System

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Here in the Fox Chapel Area School District, we are always evaluating and updating our security measures to help ensure a safer atmosphere for everyone. One of our most recently implemented safety initiatives is the Raptor® Visitor Management System. This system will officially be used in all district buildings starting January 7, 2019, and will help us protect our students and staff by tracking visitors, volunteers, and contractors who come into our schools, thus providing a safer and more monitored environment.

Everyone entering our schools will be required to provide a valid state-issued driver’s license or government-issued ID that will be run through the Raptor system, and the network will provide alerts on visitors who may jeopardize the safety of our schools. The system will also print a badge for visitors that will be returned prior to exiting the building.

A video about the Raptor screening system can be viewed at https://youtu.be/QnW5MNWvENk. Additionally, if you are interested in learning more about the visitor management system, please visit the Raptor Technologies website at www.raptortech.com.

Additionally, the Raptor system will now be used for all parent/guardian volunteer clearances. Further information can be found on the district’s website at www.fcasd.edu, under the red section on the right labeled “Who Are You?”. Please click on “Parents” and see “Volunteer at FCASD.” Please note, parents/guardians with active clearances do not need to do anything at this time. Please know that this new system will enhance the safety of our students and staff, and we appreciate all of our visitors adhering to this new protocol.
