High School Students Place at Pitt Model UN Conference

Two Fox Chapel Area High School students recently placed at the University of Pittsburgh Model United Nations (UN) Conference. Sophomores Rohan Chalasani and Jeremy Rodrigues won second place on the African Union committee while representing the country of Chad.

Approximately 470 students from 23 schools from western Pennsylvania and Ohio participated in the University of Pittsburgh Model UN Conference. The conference was held November 10 at the University of Pittsburgh.

The purpose of the Model UN conferences is to enable students to role play and simulate the countries in the United Nations. As a part of the conferences, students debate and try to solve global problems from the perspectives of other countries.
