Students Place in Erie Forensic Tournament
Seven Fox Chapel Area High School students recently placed at the annual M & M Lake Erie Invitational Forensic Tournament. The team of junior Rajeev Godse and sophomore Jackson Romero won first place in Policy Debate and had an undefeated record. Additionally, freshman Mona Gerges won second place and freshman Siddharth Yende won fifth place in Lincoln Douglas Debate; junior Jackson Boychuk won third place in Student Congress; and the team of senior Jonah Green and junior Jonathan Rodrigues won seventh place in Public Forum Debate. Additionally, because of the students’ performances in the debate events, Fox Chapel Area’s team won second place in the debate sweepstakes.
The tournament, sponsored by Mercyhurst Prepatory High School and McDowell High School, was held November 3, 2018, at Penn State Behrend. Approximately 125 students from 16 high schools from across Western Pennsylvania participated in the event.
