Students Place in Regional FBLA Competition
Several Fox Chapel Area High School students recently competed in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Regional Leadership Conference and 55 placed and qualified for the state competition. Fox Chapel Area first place regional winners included: seniors Christopher Bonavita, Jarad Reiss, Brianna Smith, Jordan Taxay, Tanvi Yende, and Zachary Zytnick; juniors Vaishavi Agrawal, Daniel Andrud, Abby Baldauf, Noah Fritsch, Sanjana Harish, Meredith Kenney, and Ziya Xu; sophomores Jackson Boychuk and Michael Prato; and freshmen Arda Akinci, David Kronman, Arsh Kumaran, Nathaniel Lazzara, Isabella Liberto, and John Lindgren. Second place regional winners were: seniors Emilia Bianchini, Braddock Lalor, and Jeffrey Savin; juniors Mitchell Miles and Jonathan Simon; sophomores Blair Echnat and Aaron Santilli; and freshmen Bennett Marsh, Vivian Shao, and Hyun Shin. Third place regional winners were: seniors Elena Liberto, Albert Liu, Ryan Santilli, Sarah Sheerer, Ashley Trusiak, and Adam Woo; sophomores Gwendolyn Cullen and Samantha Dockey; and freshmen Zane Gavazzi. Fourth place regional winners were: senior Scott Hastings; juniors Isabella Boleng, Kristen Friday, Ryan Kerr, Alyssa Melani, and Zachary Yonas; sophomore Alyssa Carnevali; and freshmen Melina Bradley and Domenica Delaney. Fifth place regional winners were: seniors Cooper Collins, Alexander Miles, and Sai Yarlagadda; junior Gina Wang; sophomore Hannah Drum; and freshman Ian Cohen. All of these students have qualified to participate at the state-level FBLA Conference that will be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, April 9-11, 2018.
The FBLA Regional Leadership Competition was held December 14, 2017, at The Fez in Hopewell, Pennsylvania. Approximately 300 students from schools from 10 school districts participated in the regional competition.
