Kirstein Sharrow joined the Fox Chapel Area School District this year as a fifth-grade teacher at Kerr Elementary School. Previously, Ms. Sharrow worked in the Quaker Valley School District and for Pittsburgh Public Schools.

What has been your favorite part about Fox Chapel Area so far?
My favorite part about Fox Chapel Area so far has been getting to know the other teachers and the students in fifth grade.
Who was your favorite teacher growing up, and why?
My 10th-grade English teacher was my favorite teacher growing up. He expected a lot from us as learners. I always looked forward to going to his class, and I learned a lot from him that year.What led you to a career in education?
I was led to a career in education by the enjoyment I feel when learning and working with children.Do you have a favorite cafeteria food?
My favorite cafeteria food is pizza.On the weekends, what can you be found doing?
On the weekends, I can be found watching high school, Pitt, and Steelers football.What's one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?
One thing that most people would be surprised to learn about me is that I learned American Sign Language while I was at Pitt.Favorite vacation destination?
My favorite vacation destination is any cruise ship.What three things are always in your refrigerator?
Three things that can always be found in my refrigerator are sparkling water, frozen fruit, and lemon juice.What's the one thing you can't live without?
