DMS Students & Staff to Commemorate September 11

Dorseyville Middle School students and staff in the Fox Chapel Area School District will be participating in two annual events to commemorate September 11 in a special way.

During the school day, the teachers will be keeping an American flag moving around the DMS track during school hours (7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) in remembrance of the 3,000 Americans who lost their lives 17 years ago. Additionally, during the last period of the day, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the entire student body of Dorseyville Middle School (nearly 900 students) and staff members will be on the track wearing red, white, and blue and everyone will be carrying an American flag. This is a September 11 tradition that the DMS students and staff have done for the past several years.

Additionally, for the second year in a row, the students and staff from Team 7A are inviting first responders from the Fox Chapel Area community to attend a breakfast to honor their dedication to keeping our community safe. The breakfast will be held September 11 from 8:30-10 a.m. in the school cafeteria. Area first responders (police, firefighters, EMS, etc.) are invited to stop by for even a small amount of time for breakfast and a coffee. Reservations are requested but not required. Any first responders interested in attending are asked to email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
