FCAO
Overview
The Fox Chapel Area School District embraces anytime, anyplace learning.
Students are able to attend cyber school within the Fox Chapel Area School District and meet their unique needs.
Cyber courses are completed in a 100 percent online environment. If a student opts to be 100 percent cyber, they may still enjoy the benefits of Fox Chapel Area teachers facilitating courses; a Fox Chapel Area school counselor to guide them through high school and the college application process; on-campus access for assistance with courses, clubs, and social activities; and a Fox Chapel Area diploma.
Fox Chapel Area has chosen Edgenuity as its main online course provider, with some courses available through APEX Learning. The courses are NCAA approved, and they meet Fox Chapel Area's standards for excellence.
We also offer online courses designed by Fox Chapel teachers for some electives. These courses have the same academic rigor as traditional Fox Chapel Area courses but are delivered online through the Schoology learning management system. These courses are currently only offered at the high school level.
For juniors and seniors who want a hybrid learning experience, we offer flex scheduling. Students may opt to take an online course along with traditional in-school courses. With this flexible scheduling, students can elect to spend a portion of their day attending classes with their peers while completing other classes online through FCAO.
The Fox Chapel Area Online (FCAO) program is available for residents of the Fox Chapel Area School District. To register your child in the district, please complete Fox Chapel Area's registration process.
