Transportation
General Information
Round-trip transportation is provided for students who reside within the Fox Chapel Area School District boundaries enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade. The Fox Chapel Area School District buses approximately 4,800 students to 62 schools. The district provides transportation to residents who attend non-profit private and charter schools the are within 10 miles of the district's boundaries.
Stop Details: The district mails public school transportation details annually in August, approximately one week prior to the start of school. If your child's information is not correct on the letter, please contact their school of attendance for a correction. Information about a student's stop will only be given to a parent/guardian.
Pickup/Drop-Off Guidelines: Students are to arrive at their assigned bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled bus arrival time. The district encourages parents/guardians of students in grades 1-4 to meet their children at their bus stop for afternoon drop-off. Kindergarten students are required to have an escort from the bus stop.
Days with No School: When the Fox Chapel Area School District must be closed and/or a flexible instruction day is put in place due to inclement weather or another circumstance, no transportation will be provided to any private or public school. When the district delays school because of inclement weather, all schools that are provided transportation by the district will follow the same delayed transportation schedule, For school closing/delay information, please check the district's website, social media, and KDKA, WTAE, and WPXI.
