Cassandra Pencek

Pencek 008Mrs. Cassandra Pencek joined the Fox Chapel Area School District in October of 2017 as the Assistant Principal at Dorseyville Middle School. Prior to arriving at Fox Chapel Area, Mrs. Pencek worked as an Assistant Principal in two elementary buildings in the Seneca Valley School District. Mrs. Pencek began her career as a kindergarten teacher in the Ft. LeBoeuf School District near Erie, Pennyslvania. In addition, she spent more than a decade working with Step By Step Learning, LLC, an educational consulting company based in Whitehall, Pennsylvania. Her work there as a senior educational consultant afforded her the opportunity to work with many school districts across Pennsylvania and Ohio and to learn from experts in the field of reading and data analysis.

Mrs. Pencek earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education at Slippery Rock University. She also earned a Master of Education with a focus on Reading from Slippery Rock. Mrs. Pencek received her K-12 Principal Certification from California University of Pennsylvania. She has been accepted into the doctoral program at Point Park University and will begin her coursework in August of 2018.

At Dorseyville, Mrs. Pencek is responsible for supervision of the literacy, educational support, gifted, world language, and guidance departments. Mrs. Pencek operates with three core values guiding her leadership: student-focused, data-driven decision-making, and shared ownership.

Mrs. Pencek grew up in a small town about two hours north of Pittsburgh called Linesville, Pennsylvania, where the town has one traffic light and is best known for the “Spillway, Where the Ducks Walk on the Fish.” She and her husband, Jarrad, now live in Cranberry Township, and the couple has two young children.
