“Pie A Teacher” Fund-raiser

The students of Kerr worked together to raise money for the earthquake victims of Haiti.  One of the fund-raising events was called “Pie A Teacher.”  Students raised money to try to get their teacher pied in the face.  Mr. Hart , Mrs. Hess, and Ms. Ferguson were the lucky winners.

Camp Invention
The Fox Chapel Area School District will be hosting the Camp Invention program — an exciting weeklong summer day experience for children entering grades one through six.  Camp will be held at O'Hara Elementary from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. during the week of July 12-16, 2010.
Camp Invention integrates science, technology, engineering, math, history, and the arts in an exciting environment.   The inquiry-based program is designed to inspire creativity and inventive thinking through hands-on activities and fun.

This nationally-acclaimed program will be directed by Kerr Elementary School teacher Liza Barbour.  Local educators will serve as program teachers, and enthusiastic high school and college students will serve as counselors.

The registration fee includes a Camp Invention T-shirt.  Register before March 31, 2010, or register with a friend, to receive $25 off the base registration price of $210.  Call 800-968-4332 or visit www.campinvention.org to register.
