| As we come to the close of another school year, I want to tell you how proud I am of our Kerr students, staff members, parents, and PTA. From the academic achievement of our students, to our Accelerated Reader Program, Olweus Bully Prevention Program, Talent Show, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Girls On The Run, Book Fairs, Musical Performances, Art Shows, etc., we continually demonstrate why we are the best elementary school in the county. This is my fifth year as principal of Kerr Elementary School, and I cannot tell you of any place that I would rather be as a teacher or administrator. I wish all of you the best this summer, and look forward to being part of your child’s life again next year.
Have a great summer! Dr. Noro | |

New Bus Guidelines Beginning Next Year |
In order to ensure the safety of each child, and to make certain that each child is riding the correct bus at all times, children will ONLY be permitted to ride the bus that they have been assigned by the district. We will no longer permit any child to ride any other bus other than their assigned bus, based on after-school care. Please make arrangements before the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, that will help you to work within the parameters of these guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Noro.

The Fox Chapel Area School District will be hosting the Camp Invention program — an exciting weeklong summer day experience for children entering grades one through six. Camp will be held at O'Hara Elementary from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. during the week of July 12-16, 2010.
| Camp Invention integrates science, technology, engineering, math, history, and the arts in an exciting environment. The inquiry-based program is designed to inspire creativity and inventive thinking through hands-on activities and fun.
This nationally-acclaimed program will be directed by Kerr Elementary School teacher Liza Barbour. Local educators will serve as program teachers, and enthusiastic high school and college students will serve as counselors.
The registration fee includes a Camp Invention T-shirt. Register before March 31, 2010, or register with a friend, to receive $25 off the base registration price of $210. Call 800-968-4332 or visit www.campinvention.org to register. |
