Students Score High on National German Exam
Several Fox Chapel Area School District students recently earned high marks on the 2015 National German Exam. The following Fox Chapel Area High School students won awards: sophomore Emma Paulini won a gold award; junior Eli Berman and freshmen Joseph Kirklewski, Elizabeth Mountz, and Renee Van der Velden all received silver awards; and freshman Gregory Kirklewski won a bronze award. Achievement awards went to Fox Chapel Area High School juniors Ruth Kollar and Stephen Polcyn; sophomore Macy McClaran; and freshmen Jacob Orban and Danielle Werner. Dorseyville Middle School eighth grader Courtney Kennedy received a bronze award and eighth graders Isabella Boleng, Diana Crookston, Mitchell Miles, and Sarena Seeger each won achievement awards.
The National German Exam was taken by Fox Chapel Area High School students in December 2014 and by Dorseyville Middle School students in January 2015. Students from across the United States take the exam. The Fox Chapel Area students are under the instruction of German teachers Tanja Koller and Drew Richards.
