Senior Wins for Artwork in National Distracted Driving Contest
Fox Chapel Area High School senior William “Tim” Marsh was named a national winner in the spring 2017 Create Real Impact teen safe driving campaign. Create Real Impact challenges students to address the dangers of distracted driving in creative ways that will resonate with other young drivers. Tim was one of only five national winners and he won the grand prize in the art category for his artwork entitled “Every Glance a Chance.”
As a national winner, Tim received a $1,500 educational grant. The contest encourages peer-to-peer messages and creative expression from students to help stem the tide of distracted and reckless driving, the number one killer of young drivers. It is sponsored by Impact Teen Drivers and California Casualty and was open to students ages 14-22. More than 1,500 submissions of essays, artwork, videos, and music were received from students across the nation.
