Uber to Visit DMS Students
A representative from Uber will be visiting with the students enrolled in the Dorseyville Middle School Summer Learning Academy Project-Based Learning (PBL) program August 4, 2017. The Uber representative will also be bringing an autonomous car so the students can see, first-hand, how it operates.
The sixth-eighth grade middle school students have been studying transportation design this summer as part of their PBL experience and even made cars using mousetraps and other materials. They area also making and designing boats as part of the transportation PBL unit.
The visit from Uber will be the perfect fit to further enhance the students’ learning. The visit is being made possible by Greg Arabia, one of Fox Chapel Area’s teachers for the Summer Learning Academy who also works for Uber, and Arabia’s boss at Uber, Paul Rocchini.
The visit will take place at Fox Chapel Area High School as Dorseyville Middle School has some renovation work going on this summer. The visit will be held August 4 from 10:50 a.m.-12 noon. The high school is located at 611 Field Club Road in O’Hara Township.
