The Fox Chapel Area School District is a nationally recognized, award-winning school district that produces high achievement in students, with a motivated and professional faculty and an involved and caring administration. The school district is located about 12 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. The district encompasses six municipalities - Aspinwall, Blawnox , Fox Chapel, Indiana , O'Hara , and Sharpsburg . Vision: Students in the Fox Chapel Area School District will enter schools that are prepared to address individual needs. The school community will nurture and inspire students’ desire for knowledge and provide the foundation for them to be successful in a global society and to become lifelong learners. Mission: The Fox Chapel Area School District exists to provide a rigorous school program that strives to take students to their maximum levels of educational achievement and to develop the whole person in order to accomplish his or her personal best. |

The enrollment for the 2008-2009 school year is 4,492 students. - The school district is moving forward with a parent/student portal using the software solution from Edline. Parents and students (grades 6-12) will receive an activation code to access the secure system.
- The high school is receiving a Classrooms for the Future grant of $94,830 from the Pennsylvania Department of Education for the 2008-2009 school year. The grant will be used to enhance technology in the 11th and 12th grade program. This is the second year in a row that the high school has received a Classrooms for the Future grant. The grant the district received during the 2007-2008 school year was used to enhance technology in the 9th and 10th grade program.

Superintendents from area schools are supporting Pittsburgh 250, a new initiative striving to turn the spotlight on Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh 250 is helping young people become more knowledgeable of Pittsburgh with the ultimate goal of keeping young people in Pittsburgh. |
